Alexis Balunsat REMEMBER ALEXIS (Alex) Balunsat, managing editor of our JASHS school paper Mercury? After years of trying to track his whereabouts, Nannie incidentally found him to be a third floor neighbor of theirs at the Parthenia Manor in Panorama City, California.The Labradors had moved in to the senior apartment complex last May 1st. An honor graduate of JASHS Class ’55 and gold medalist for extracurricular achievement, Alex is a semi-retired auditor. Driven by an insatiable quest for career opportunities in the arts and sciences, Alex is presently taking cinema and anthropology courses at Los Angeles Valley College in San Fernando Valley. He recently made a documentary shoot of the indigenous tribes of the mountain people in Luzon in October 2005 with his friend and partner Thomas Ryan of the Fantom Video Productions in Washington, D.C. Alex has been traveling all over the U.S. and lived in Germany for 3 1/2 years as the chief of Internal Review, 1st Personnel Command, U.S. Army, Europe. Currently, he is a freelance video moviemaker awaiting completion of his certificate. He has visited the USSR, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Egypt, and has taken courses in German, Spanish, Russian and French. Alex got his BA in World Business and graduate studies at San Francisco State University and Bowie State University in Maryland. |
