Life Choices

Whatever choices in life we take will reflect the kind of person we become including our status: choices of  good versus bad or happy versus sad.  It is said  that in our lifetime if we follow the right path ninety five percent of the time, we are guaranteed to live a happy and comfortable life. If we do not then we take the best that we achieved and  make it worthwhile. We can’t recoup the past. Time lost is lost forever. It is a done deal.

As we settle in the winters of our lives the most important  of choices is being happy not sad. We should all choose to be happy knowing our remaining time on this earth is short. Everything else with the exception of the family, loved ones and friends becomes irrelevant. Our best choice is to retain and maintain happy and positive thoughts. Discard or walk away from any element of sadness. Best of all let us be kind to each other; be considerate and be loving if you will.

Let us treasure the good memories, claim them our very own. A retired good friend of mine tells her husband “Do whatever will make you happy.” How sweet is that? It  is a perfect philosophy to bear while sitting on a rocking chair watching the clouds roll by and sunrise and sunset.■
